This Is As Good A Place To Start As Any Other

...The Beginning.

Those two words are so sweet for the adventure that we (you and I and all of our friends - both known and unknown as of yet to us) are about to embark on. And that adventure, my friends - if I may call you that - is all because of one man. One man who is hateful and wrong. One man who has inspired me, through the deplorable actions that we have all been reading over that last few days, to be a better me. In fact, he has inspired me to be the BEST me. So...follow me, if you will, on a journey.

Let's start at square one.

For those who don't know - and, really, you have to have been hiding not to know - but, let's be fair - there is a man by the name of Mike Jefferies. And this man is the CEO of Abercrombie and Fitch. And he is, to say the least, an odd duck. You can read about what he has said here:

So, now that you have done that, let's go on to the next bit of this story. I was so angry about all of this that I couldn't stop thinking about it. So I made an event. To sum up what this Event we have planned is, I will quote right from the page (and the wonderful Nina) - "I want all my friends over size 0 to be outraged by this sad, little man who thinks he can just alienate and humiliate 2 out of every 3 people in this country. If you agree? Let's make his "pretty" little "popular" shop overflow with curves and sAss ;)"

What do we want you to do? It's simple -  we want all our fellow "uncool" (by Jefferies's "Standards") peeps to join me in going into your local Abercrombie and try on clothes. You need to ask for your size and act like the Effervescent and Glorious Person you are, in whatever body your Amazing happens to be poured into.
Comment on their music, ask if they ever play [insert your non top 40 band here]. Browse the store for something "cool" and ask for one just like it, in a size 16, 18+ for a sexy chick you know or a size XXL+ for this hunk of a dude you dig. 


That's all you have to do - CELEBRATE YOUR YOU AND SHOW PEOPLE THAT YOU CANNOT BE BEAT AND YOU ARE NOT SUBSTANDARD. Teach them. Teach them that you are not going to let this happen.


And so, later,  I talked about it with a group of my closest friends, herein referred to as "The Badgers" (and more on them later) in chat. And one of them, who shall be called "Fire", suggested that I "get some used Abercombie clothes and alter them into new styles too. Cut and resew to make them work for those "uncool" body types... Get other people to do the same and start a blog of photos." 

And so this blog was born. 

I won't be buying them at full price, but that's how I am about everything *anyway* so this is nothing new. I will be scouring thrift stores and yard sales. Please feel free to join me and send me pictures of your endeavors. And let me know what you want to see me attempt.
